Overview

The Training Superintendent oversees the comprehensive training program, ensuring employees are skilled, compliant, and effective in their roles. This role includes managing a team of Training Leads, developing training initiatives, and maintaining compliance standards. The Training Superintendent also partners with the National Training team to roll out company-wide programs.

Responsibilities

Roll out local and national training programs

  • Collaborate with the national training team to implement company-wide training programs across departments.
  • Ensure local training initiatives align with national standards and objectives.
  • Provide feedback to the national training team on local training needs and program effectiveness
  • Assess and identify gaps in employee knowledge and skills at their local site.
  • Ensure that training priorities are aligned with operational goals and references KPIs (Efficiency, Error Rate, Turnover, TIR, FSIR, OTFR, etc)
  • Develop and implement effective training programs to address these gaps.
  • Communicate solutions to the national team for best practices.
  • Continuously evaluate training effectiveness and make necessary adjustments.
  • Manage training and data effectively in the learning management system

Manage New Hire Training Program:

  • Facilitate training classes for new hire orientation and new hire training program
  • Maintain new hire training materials and all training conducted; maintain the ability to produce training records as required
  • Ensure training materials are available, accessible, and accurate with current SOPs and other operational standards
  • Assess instructional effectiveness and work with local and national CI and Training teams to determine impact, making recommendations as appropriate
  • Create and implement training aids and resources as needed, including translations
  • Work with agencies to onboard new temporary employees and ensure all required training is completed

Manage Compliance Training:

  • Work with HR and department stakeholders to maintain compliance goals for all refresher and onboarding training programs
  • Partner with local and National CI and Training teams to monitor training participation and impact
  • Regularly communicates site training compliance and progress to stakeholders
  • Maintain up-to-date records of compliance training completion.
  • Ensure that safety training is prioritized.

Managing & Developing People:

  • Manages a team of Training Leads to ensure new hires receive hands-on training
  • Develop and maintain team training matrix, identifying and treating gaps as necessary
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of Training Leads to ensure they understand and drive key metrics, policies, and SOPs.
  • Foster a collaborative and innovative team environment.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback to the training team.

 

All Other Responsibilities as Assigned:

  • Adapt to additional tasks and responsibilities as directed by senior management.
  • Participate in cross-functional projects and initiatives as required.

This position requires 5% travel. 

Qualifications

  • General high school degree, or equivalent, (e.g. GED). 
  • 1+ years of experience in a training role required 
  • At least 1+ years of successful leadership experience in a fast-paced environment required
  • Track record of driving KPIs and meeting or exceeding goals
  • Open availability to work nights and weekend shifts as needed
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation
  • Must have floor presence and be able to stand/walk for up to 8 hours

 

Salary Range: $67,000 - $75,000 per year
