Overview

The National Training Program Facilitator is responsible for working with key stakeholders across the Home Chef Operations Department to develop, implement, and manage Home Chef training for Fulfillment team members. The training will ensure Fulfillment team members have a complete onboarding program and go through the necessary training to be successful in their roles.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, implement, and facilitate behavioral and leadership training modules tailored to the specific needs of Home Chef Fulfillment sites:

  • Create leadership training that aligns with Home Chef’s core values and competencies as well as scoping specific gaps at the fulfillment sites.
  • Seeks out Home Chef brand kits and relevant industry best practices on which to base the format, structure, and style of the training materials. 
  • Creates training materials that are intuitive and impactful for users for a wide variety of purposes including both core skill development and function-specific skills development 
  • Conduct dynamic and interactive training, utilizing a variety of instructional techniques and tools to enhance learning outcomes.
  • Actively work with fulfillment site leaders to understand needs and spend time with expected participants to gain hands-on experience.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement by enhancing upcoming training based on ongoing feedback from participants and sites.
  • Coordinate logistics and scheduling of training sessions or workshops across sites.

 

Manage New Hire Orientation program and support local training teams:

  • Ensure new hire decks (orientation and training) are aligned and updated with Home Chef content and pertinent information. 
  • Update changes to content by partnering with cross-functional teams such as Total Rewards and FSQA
  • Collects ongoing feedback from cross-functional stakeholders to continuously improve onboarding  materials and to surface any new needs as operational needs evolve
  • Improve orientation program to continuously engage new hires
  • Partner with local site teams and improve new hire training.
  • Provide coverage as needed at the fulfillment sites.

 

Support in creating content and managing the learning management system (LMS):

  • Create content online to support the leadership program and provide microlearning through the LMS.
  • Support the national training team on overall content creation and management of the LMS
  • Tracks usage and compliance of online training content
  • Work on ad-hoc requests as needed.

 

Support overall initiatives of the Operations Excellence team and partner with the fulfillment sites:

  • Work with the overall national team on cross-functional projects.
  • Provide training support to corporate stakeholders. 
  • Work on ad-hoc requests, as needed. 

 

This position is Chicago-based and requires at least 50% travel across all fulfillment sites. It is also required for this position to report to the Chicago office weekly on Wednesdays. 

Qualifications

The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, ability, and/or other characteristics needed for this role. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities.

  • Completion of a two-year program such as an Associate degree
  • Knowledge of training software platforms; otherwise, ability to quickly learn new software platforms 
  • At least 3 years in a role with major responsibility training individuals, ideally across many diverse functions
  • Proven experience in designing, developing, and delivering training programs, preferably within the food industry or a similar manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency in assessing training needs, designing curriculum, and evaluating training effectiveness
  • Enthusiasm for boosting the capabilities of a workforce and continuously leveling up the team’s capabilities
  • Exceptional presentation and facilitation skills, with the ability to engage diverse audiences and adapt content delivery to various learning styles.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including active listening, empathy, and the ability to build rapport with trainees at all organizational levels.
  • At least 2 years of experience in production/operational environments or working directly with those in a production/operational environment
  • Strong ability to track details and keep track of projects
  • Interpersonal skills to build rapport and trusting relationships with team members across the Operations organization at various levels and across various functions
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Self-starter who is results-oriented, resourceful, takes initiative and is capable of handling multiple responsibilities at a time
  • General computer proficiency (i.e., Microsoft Word, Excel, Gmail, PowerPoint)
  • Willingness to embrace change and adjust quickly in a fast-paced environment
  • Willingness to travel to fulfillment sites as needed and accommodate flexible work schedules to support training initiatives.
  • Must be willing to travel at least 50% 

Salary Range: $75,000 - $85,000
